It is with great sadness that we announce that Paul Blair, aged 71, passed away peacefully in his home in Gaspé, Québec, on August 11, 2025.
Born on April 25, 1954, in Montréal, Québec, Paul, affectionately known as Butch to some, was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and a friend to many.
Predeceased by his mother Marjorie, his father Floyd, his brother John, and his unborn son Daniel, he will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Sarah, Brittany, and Angela, his two sisters Patricia and Linda, his girlfriend Shey, as well as many other friends and relatives.
Paul will always be remembered as a free spirit. His passions spanned music, nature, animals, history, football, and hockey. He found joy in the great outdoors, breathing in the fresh country air and admiring the beauty around him. Paul had a light-hearted approach to life, never taking himself too seriously and always appreciating a good laugh. His wit and his sharp intellect were evident to all who knew him. Despite the challenges he encountered, Paul's kindness and compassion for those in need never wavered. He will be fondly remembered for his generous heart.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. His family will gather in Montréal for an intimate celebration of his life, in September 2025.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s memory to The Black Watch of Canada Foundation.
