At his residence in New-Richmond, on August 25, 2024, John Émile Diotte passed away at the age of 94. A man known for his deep love of horses and the happiness they brought to his life, John was always in good spirits, bringing warmth and joy to everyone he encountered.
Son of the late Bertha Cormier and the late Jean Baptiste Diotte, John is lovingly remembered by his wife, Christine Coull Diotte, his daughter Anne-Marie (Jennifer), and his grandson Sheldon. He is now reunited with his brother and sisters: the late Alonzo Diotte, the late Sylvia Durette, and the late Clarisse Landry.
John’s passion for horses was well-known, as he was often found admiring them whenever he had the chance. His cheerful nature and love for these noble animals brought happiness to all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished by everyone who shared in his life.
He is also deeply mourned by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Henri Thibodeau Funeral Home in New-Richmond, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, September 14, at 11:00 a.m. at the Carleton cemetery. A small gathering with refreshments will follow at the Cascapedia-St-Jules Royal Canadian Legion, 55 Gallagher Road, starting at 12:30 p.m.
