Winston Sweetman passed away peacefully at the Chandler Hospital on July 15, 2025, the day after his 85th birthday.
He was the son of the late Edwin Arthur Sweetman and Helen Pearl McColm of Port Daniel.
He is survived by 2 sisters and 1 brother: Irene Peterkin (late George); Shirley Sloan (late Lorne); Walter Sweetman (Myrna), and a brother-in-law, Peter Almond. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Joyce Galey (Norman), Lois Price (Howard), Carol Almond, and 2 brothers, Keith (Blandine) and Lennox (Vina). Winston is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Winston will be greatly missed by his loving friend, Graciette Joseph.
Winston will be well remembered in Port Daniel as the owner of the local general store, E. A. Sweetman Reg’d, which he carried on until his retirement some years ago.
Cremation has already taken place, and a private interment will be held in Port Daniel, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Society or a charity of your choice.

Winston was an amazing uncle who created so many wonderful childhood memories! Just sitting beside him while he was working was a highlight in those days! He was much loved and will be greatly missed!
