It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Julia Maud McKay which occurred at the Residence St-Joseph in Maria on Monday, July 23, 2025. Gladys was 106 years and six months.
Predeceased by her father Austin McKay, mother Maud Caldwell, and sisters Emma and Olga.
Gladys was an avid reader, she enjoyed travelling, going to restaurants, keeping up with the news, she
loved cats, dogs, flowers and humming birds, She enjoyed visits from her friends and spending time with them.
And she loved talking on the telephone.
In all Gladys loved and appreciated life to her fullest, now is her time to rest and join her family and friends in heaven,
May she rest in peace. She will be sadly missed by her many friends.
Visitations will be held at the home of Gladys McKay at 272 Rte 299, Cascapedia-St.Jules, on Thursday July 10, 2025
Visiting hours will be from 2-8 p.m.
Funeral will take place at the Saint Andrews United Church in New Richmond on Friday July 11, 2025 at 3 p.m.
Burial to follow at the United Cemetery in New Richmond with a reception to follow at the hall.
Donations can be made in memory of Gladys McKay to a Charity of your choice.
A special thank you to the staff and nurses of the Residence St. Joseph for the excellent care and kindness
shown to Gladys during her stay of over two years.

Bureau de Normalisation de Québec.

Gladys was a wonderful person to know. She was kind, thoughtful and loved to hear what was going on. We will think of her often.
