Memories of My Uncle Bev
I looked forward to heading down to Black Cape, Quebec in the summer to join my cousins on the McNair farm.
My Uncle Bev was a huge part of that holiday. He really enjoyed the young people, especially the evenings when the hay was in, we would gather either in the McNair farm kitchen, Bev's basement, or at Burton's Beach for a bonfire to tell stories, laugh and sing songs.
Uncle Bev loved music, he enjoyed listening to his brothers Bob & Milne play their guitars, and Ivan Campbell who was a big part of our summertime Black Cape gang, strum a song or two.
My Uncle could step dance, and in my opinion, was really good at it. I remember trying to keep up with him, and couldn't!
Uncle Bev was a good story teller. I use to love to listen to our folks sharing stories & jokes as the laughter filled the room.
Always hard working with Aunt Madge by his side, they were a team.
I'll always remember my uncle's generosity and kindness shown to the nieces and nephews who came to visit each summer.

It is with sadness that I read about the death of Beverley. As a student I have worked with him for two Summers in the meat shop. What a pleasant man to work with, singing and enjoying life and welcoming every person coming in for a coffee.
