In memory of
Carter Coffin
November 23, 1932 – October 19, 2024 - 91 years old
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carter Coffin announce his sudden passing on Saturday, October 19th, one month shy of his 92nd birthday.

Family will receive condolences on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 1 pm to 2 pm. Funeral Mass will also be held at St-Andrew's Church at York at 2 pm on the same day.

Carter Coffin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ada Coffin (Gillis),
his five children, who he was so proud of, Marlene (Terry), Allison (Deanna), Brent, Barbara (Jaki), Karen (Dwayne),
his ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He also leaves to mourn his nieces, nephews, his many lifelong friends and companions.

Predeceased by his parents Russel Coffin and Hilda Falle as well as his seven siblings.

Carter lived his life in Gaspe and was a pillar of the community. He spent over 30 years working for the Augustine Nuns. He was very proud of his 45 + years of service as an Eastern Shores School board member. He was a dedicated Mason and throughout his life, gave a lot of energy and commitment to them. Carter was a man of integrity and strong opinions. He loved his community and made many contributions to it. He will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fondation Santé Côte-de-Gaspé and Gaspé Cancer Foundation.

On behalf of the family, we would like to thank the staff at Gaspe Hospital, especially Patrick Clark, for taking great care of our father during his last hours.

Professional services have been entrusted to the Valère Fortin Funeral Home of Gaspé, a subsidiary of the HG Division network certified Distinction by the Corporation des thanatologues du Québec and by the Bureau de normalisation du Québec.

The management and staff of HG Division offer their deepest condolences to the family and thank them for their trust.
