In memory of
Melville Mullin
October 5th, 1935 - August 12th, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Melville Mullin, 86, peacefully at home on August 12, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Sue, his children Anne, Christine (Peter), and Randy (Valencia), grandchildren Paris and Ryan, sister Marjorie, his nieces and nephews and their children, and his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Dorothy, and siblings Andrew, Keith, Kathleen, and Rheta.

Melville was born in Gaspé on Oct. 5, 1935, the youngest son in the family. He cherished the natural beauty of his home town and its strong sense of community, raising his family here while working for the Quebec Wildlife Service for 35 years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. His family loved to hear his stories about his adventures in the woods and on Gaspé's great salmon-fishing rivers. He was a devoted father and grandfather, generous with his time and affection. His grandchildren would come to Gaspé each summer and he showed them the magic of the place so they came to love it as he did.

Above all, he was an adoring husband to Sue, showering her with love throughout their 61 years of marriage.

We will forever hold him close in our hearts.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the palliative care team of the CLSC and his exceptional physician, Dr. David Bernier for their kind and caring support throughout his final days.

The graveside service will be held at St. Andrew's Church York cemetery at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the Fondation Santé in Gaspé (Hospital Foundation) or the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.

The Valère Fortin Funeral Home of Gaspé has been entrusted with organizing the above mentioned services.

Management and staff of HG Division offer their deepest condolences to the family and thank them for their trust.

Message from Lois and Roger Renaud August 19, 2022

Uncle Melville will be sorely missed by many of us. I can still hear his voice, talking about the salmon in the river, and the Stillpool, and the fish hatchery. I loved his shy smile, and my memories of childhood summers spent in Gaspé with our grandparents and Uncle Melville and Aunt Sue and all of our cousins here are very precious to me. We know this has to be a particularly difficult time for you, and we want to be there for you all in the months and years to come. My husband, Roger, and I send our love and very sincere condolences to you Aunt Sue, Anne, Chrissie, and Randy, and all of your family members..
