It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edmond Asselin at Gaspe hospital. Surrounded by his family, he entered peacefully into rest on Friday, April 23, 2021 at the age of 87.

Devoted husband of Eunice (Cotton), respected father and father-in-law of Carole and Perry (Lemieux), Barry and Holly and Brian, predeceased by his daughter-in-law Jennifer. Loving grandfather of Michael, Chris, Megan, Daniel, Kristin, Tyler, Jessica, Brandon, Katy and Matthew and great-grandfather of Jaxson.

Son of the late Amable Asselin and the late Agnès Chicoine. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Annette and Guy (Bouchard), Elie and Rose, Camille and Celina, Alfred and Rolland, Maurice and Monette. Predeceased by his brothers Alcide and Leon and sisters Leona and Evelyne.

Edmond will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

His life will continue to be celebrated by those he leaves behind.

A special thank you to all the devoted doctors, Dr. David Bernier and Lisandre Poirier, and all the kind nurses at Gaspe hospital who took such gentle care of Edmond in his final days with us.

A service and burial will be held at Saint Peter’s Parish in Barachois, Quebec on August 6, 2021 at 10:30 am for all who would like to pay tribute to his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
