It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. William McAuley which occurred at the age of 92 years at the CISSS, Hôtel-Dieu de Gaspé, on January 12, 2019. Mr. McAuley was the husband of the late Mrs. Ruth Briand from Douglastown.

He leaves behind his daughter, Elizabeth Richard (Jean-Serge Richard);
his two sons, Richard and John (Heather Barton);
his sister, Mrs. Iona Kennedy;
his brother-in-law, Mr. Morris Kennedy;
his niece, Bridget Kennedy;
his nephew, Andrew Kennedy;
the late James Kennedy and the late Patricia Kennedy.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Valère Fortin Funeral Home in Douglastown from 7 pm to 9 pm
and from 9 am to 9:55 am on January 17, 2019.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at St. Patrick's Church in Douglastown at 10 am.

Donations may be made to the Fondation Hôpital Hôtel-Dieu de Gaspé.

The Valère Fortin Funeral Home has been entrusted with organizing the above mentioned services.

My sympathy to Mr. Junior’s three children. What a great man your dad was! I visited them a few times when I would come home for holidays. I don’t think your dad ever raised his voice to anyone, not even to his cattle,and, he had some beautiful animals. He took care of them so well!
Douglastown is losing its remaining pillars! Those who are still with us will have to hold the fort.
